Beyond their passion for coffee, it was their commitment to social and environmental justice that inspired the launch of Just Us! In 1995, we became Canada’s first fair trade and organic coffee roaster. We envisioned a fairer global trade system—one that fosters equity rather than exploitation. A system that benefits the Global South just as much as the Global North. Thirty years later, their mission remains strong, and they’ve become a key rural employer in Nova Scotia, proving that business can thrive while putting people and the planet first.
